Health and fitness have always been a priority for me. I’ve been training for decades. Over the years, I’ve gone through phases — sometimes focused on resistance training, other times on running — but it’s always been part of my life. I suppose you could say I’m addicted; I don’t feel right unless I’m doing something to improve my health and fitness.
For me, health and fitness were always about optimizing — getting stronger, performing better, feeling my best. But when my son Peter developed serious health issues, everything changed.
For years, Peter struggled with unexplained symptoms — fatigue, brain fog, weight gain, and recurring kidney stones. Despite countless appointments and tests, we couldn’t get clear answers. As a parent, there’s nothing more painful than watching your child suffer and not knowing how to help. We knew something was wrong, but “the system” was failing him.
Eventually, after years of misdiagnoses, we found a physician who discovered the real cause — a hyperactive parathyroid. It was a life-changing moment. Around the same time, I entered Peter’s lab data and symptoms into an early AI engine. The AI, with access to the right data, pointed to the same diagnosis. It didn’t give me a bunch of possibilities, it was clear that it was a hyperactive parathyroid and he should consult a physician immediately. All it needed to make that diagnosis was the right information. That realization hit hard:
"When health data is available and interpreted correctly, it can change everything — even save — lives."
That experience became the spark for fitMetrics.
Because the truth is simple: if you don’t have your health, you have nothing. Yet most of us don’t have the tools, data, or guidance to truly understand our health until something goes wrong.
At fitMetrics, we believe the solution isn’t just better technology or more human care — it’s the two working together. We’re building a platform that not only uses AI to make sense of your health data but also allows you to collaborate with your physician, trainer, or nutritionist to get to the best possible outcome. It’s not AI or the healthcare system — it’s both, working in concert with you.
fitMetrics exists to give people the power to be proactive, to understand their own health, and to live stronger, longer, and more informed lives — through knowledge, compassion, and partnership.
Once the idea for fitMetrics took shape, I reached out to a longtime friend and confidant I’ve worked with for more than 25 years, Antonio Diaz. He was leading a company with deep expertise in big data, machine learning, and human-centered design — the perfect combination technology and skills that we needed to build fitMetrics.
Our goal is to build technology that helps people manage and make sense of their health data — but also to engage them in their health journey by inspiring and educating them along the way. We believe people are more likely to take action when they understand their data and see how their daily choices shape their long-term health.
With fitMetrics, your health data isn’t just numbers — it’s a living story that connects your past, present, and future. We’re building a platform that helps you understand yourself more deeply, take informed action, and collaborate with the people who can help you reach your goals.
We didn’t build fitMetrics as a product, but as a platform — one that connects people, practitioners, and partners in a shared mission to improve health outcomes. Our goal is to enable partners and practitioners to leverage the data our members are willing to share, so they can support each individual’s health journey with greater insight and precision.
We invite practitioners and partners alike to join the movement and be part of a future where collaboration and technology work together to help people live healthier, longer lives.
